Eagle Creek Invitational
The
2006 Eagle Creek Country Club "Willie D" Invitational
was won by Jerod Cahill (pictured at left) with a
69-68 - 137. In the Championship Flight, Cahill held
off three of Northern Kentucky's most experienced and successful
amateur golfers. Rob Clarke (69-69 - 138) and Jim Volpenhein
(69-69 - 138) tied for second, while defending champion
Lance Lucas (69-71 - 140) finished fourth. Cahill, Clarke,
Volpenhein and Lucas shared the lead with Saturday's low score,
each at one under par 69. Cahill secured the title
with a two under par 68 on Sunday. Cahill wrapped up his
collegiate career at Northern Kentucky University last month.
Cahill's NKU teammate David Shearer (pictured at right) posted the
low round of the tournament on Sunday with a five under par
65. Joe Hays was the top Eagle Creek golfer in the
Championship Flight with a 143. In the Championship 2
Flight, Bret Spencer had a 142 and Kevin Wright a 143.
